The Start of a New Adventure!

So AmeriCoprs NCCC has been over for over a year, which doesn't seem possible. NCCC is one of the best experiences of my life. I don't regret the decision one bit and if I had the chance to do it over again I would. I recommend the program to anyone who is looking to help others and experience new things. The people I meet, the life long friends I made, and the things I learned about myself and the world made the experience worth while. Upon arriving back home in Illinois, I had two and half weeks at home before I stated my junior year in college. I went back to school to get my degree in Elementary Education. My time in AmeriCorps reaffirmed my desire to to teach children.

I have spent the last year making new friends, taking classes, working, and readjusting to life in college again (one of the hardest transitions from AmeriLife back to society). My text adventure this summer is studying abroad at the University of Brighton in England. I leave tomorrow and will be there for three weeks. I will be taking two different classes (bringing theater into the classroom and the English education system) and will be visiting several schools while I'm there. I will also be making time for sightseeing and will be taking a weekend trip to Ireland which I am looking forward too. I hope to post photos and write about my time while I am there, so keep cheeking back for new and exciting up dates.
