Reflection of Third Round

So today was the last day at DCH and man was it a hard one. There was lots of tears and good byes. We went classroom to classroom to say good by in order to make sure we saw all the kids. In one class three of the students broke down after a few of my team mates did, myself included. It made you hurt to see the kids you had spent the last two months with break down like that. Some of the kids made it the whole day with out crying and then as we were leaving started to cry which got all of us going again.

One of the teachers had a lot of really nice things to say to us. He wanted us to know how much we impacted the lives of the kids and that all the staff really aprecated us being there. While I was there it was hard at times to really tell if we were making a difference but during the last few weeks it became more apparent that we were. After we said our last good by we went across the street and ate at this really good Ethiopian restaurant. The food was a bit spicy but it was good. Last Friday we preformed our drum circle for the kids it was great! I felt that the kids really enjoyed it. They also made us cards as good by gifts that were all very touching.

Tomorrow the rest of the corps comes back. it will be weird not having the dorm to ourselves anymore.
